[GiDlist] problem Gid/Safir
Hello,
I have a problem with Gid/Safir. After selecting the problem type
SAFIR2007/Gid/SAFIR2007/Safir_Structural_2d and creating a geometry
object, I go to Data - Constraints or Conditions and receive an error
message "GidOpenConditions: Book Mass for Dynamic Calculation not found
in Conditions". On an other machine I got the message
"GidOpenConditions: Book Constraints not found in Conditions" for the
same problem type (For the Safir_Thermal it works fine.) What can be wrong?

Which version of GiD are you using? (see Help-About)
I tried with GiD 10.1.2d for Windows x32 and this problem doesn't appear (at
least with my copy of this SAFIR problemtype)
Try to download the latest available beta version (now is the 10.1.2d), or
the latest official version (now the 10.1.4)

Hi, the SAFIR2007 interface may have some problems with GID 2009 and 2010.
A new version should be available this year.

[GiDlist] Pstoscript files and contour plots
Dear all,
When I print to a *eps file a contour plot, a set of thin white lines
are always generated on the coloured areas. Is there a way to avoid them?
Many thanks,
Jose

Hi Miguel,
Find attached the *.pdf versions of the *.eps files generated. The *.eps
files look as the pdf's, but are much larger. I have used versions
9.1.1b and 10.0.05.
I've also noticed that with version 10.x, the elements are not trimmed
at the bounding box of the *.eps (see file attached), but they are when
using version 9.x. Is there a way to force the trimming of the elements
at the *.eps boundary?
Many thanks,
Jose

[GiDlist] Pstoscript files and contour plots
Hi,
seems to be a problem with the edges of the elements ¿the element lines were
visualized on the screen?
¿have you tried with the screen ps/eps ( Files -- Print to file -- PS/EPS
Screen ...)?
You can control the resolution of the image embedded in the ps file in the
'Files -- Page and capture settings ...' window under 'Resolution'
(...)
i've been doing some tests and although the white lines appear in the ps,
when you send it to the printer these white lines do not appear. i agree
with you that these lines are ugly to see in the screen. seems to be a
rounding problem between elements parts.
The conclusion is that the vectorial ps/eps algorithm needs some rework and
cannot be quick fixed.
Thanks for the info.

[GiDlist] Pstoscript files and contour plots
Hi Miguel,
Many thanks for your answer.
The element lines where not visualised on the screen (Style=Body).
If I use screen ps/eps, the lines do not appear, but then the image is
not a vectorised plot, which is not what I wanted. Anyway, the
'Resolution' item in the menu does improve the final output of the
rasterised image. Thanks for hint.
Regards,
Jose

Many thanks for your answer.
The element lines where not visualised on the screen (Style=Body).
If I use screen ps/eps, the lines do not appear, but then the image is
not a vectorised plot, which is not what I wanted. Anyway, the
'Resolution' item in the menu does improve the final output of the
rasterised image. Thanks for hint.

Jose

Hi,
seems to be a problem with the edges of the elements ¿the element lines were

Hi Miguel,
Find attached the *.pdf versions of the *.eps files generated. The *.eps
files look as the pdf's, but are much larger. I have used versions 9.1.1b
and 10.0.05.
I've also noticed that with version 10.x, the elements are not trimmed at
the bounding box of the *.eps (see file attached), but they are when using
version 9.x. Is there a way to force the trimming of the elements at the
*.eps boundary?
Many thanks,
Jose

Dear all,
When I print to a *eps file a contour plot, a set of thin white lines
are always generated on the coloured areas. Is there a way to avoid them?
Many thanks,
Jose
