[GiDlist] volume & centre of gravity

Post by Mark Smith »

Hi GiD users/team

Rather than have to reinvent the wheel, has anyone a template or an easy
solution which will calculate the total volume of a volume mesh and give the
coordinates of the centre of gravity (uniform density material) that they
would care to share with me please ?

In the mesh quality window it is possible to show the accumulated element
volume but the volume axis has no numbers that make sense ?

Thanks in advance
Mark

[GiDlist] volume & centre of gravity

Can list this properties directly with GiD.
1) Menu: Utilities-List-Mass
2) And after select the geometric or mesh entities to list the volume and
gravity center:
(for elements it's olny listed the accumulated volume and the gravity
center)

Note: This only works if "list entities" is selected from the upper menu.
