[GiDlist] GiD Import Questions

To whom it may concern:

I am attempting to take a 3D-model file exported from a 3D-modeling program,
and import it into GiD in order to mesh it. I have tried this with IGES and
ACIS (.sat) file types several times and have been unsuccessful. With the IGES

files, GiD will not import some or all of the surfaces of the 3D model, giving
an error to that effect. With the ACIS file type, sometimes GiD will import
some of the surfaces but not all, or it will display a message indicating that
the ACIS file to be imported is of type 700 and GiD looks for type 500. In all

cases, I have not been able to import a model properly into GiD for meshing.

Can you offer any suggestions as to ways to fix these problems or other methods

or file types by which to import models into GiD?
