The material and conditions not exists until load a problem type ( Data-Problem Type)
The appropiate menus are then added to menu Data: Data-Materials, Data-Conditions,...

Emant ( magnetostatic analysis)
Shyne ( fluid dynamic analysis)
RAM series ( Estructural beams, shells and solids)
Or create a problem type specific for your owner program.
When GiD is to be used for a particular type of analysis, it is necessary to predefine all the information required from the user and to define the way the final information is given to the solver module. To do so, some files are used to describe conditions, materials, general data, units systems, symbols and the format of the input file for the solver. We call Problem Type to this this collection of files used to configure GiD for a particular type of analysis.

Yes, but how can I assign a new material to a geometry ? which menu and
function do I need to use in GiD ? I have tried to, but I can't find
anywhere the description of materials. Do I need to import the material
characteristics in GiD from another program or file ?

To create a surface polygonal of n sides, is entered the radius
of the circunscrite circunference.
For example, if yor enter a 4 sided polygon, centered at the origin, with

GiD unknown the significate of the fields of materials or conditions, only
apply this over the mesh, and write a
input file for the external analysis program (Tochnog).
It is also available generate structrured meshes of cuadrilateral and
hexahedral elements.

Write a file with a curve load-displacement is responsability of the
analysis program. (you can select with a GiD condition the node on this
result is demanded).
