Dear GiD users,

I wonder if one could customize coordinate triad display.

Thanks, Steven

What do you mean with 'triad display'?
the axes, the showing x= y= and z=... coordinates which changes when you are
moving the mouse?

I don't understand. More concretely, than it is what it would like to obtain?

Post by Steven Xu »

Sorry, I did not make myself clear.

I would like to change the size of the coordinate triad, and also the
transparency if possible. I can only change the position of the coordinate
triad for now.

Thanks, steven

[GiDlist] coordinate triad display

if by ' coordinate triad' do you mean the line 'x=.... y=.... z=....' which appeared
on old GiD version, then there is only the posibility to move them or switch them
off.

To switch them off, in the 'Utilities-Preferences' window
select the 'General' pane. And inside this there is a chekbutton with
the label 'Display coordinates'. Just switch this off, and click 'accept' and that is.
on these old versions there is no posibility to change its size and
transparency.

For old GiD versions, the coordinates are printed inside the central (white)
GiD screen, with a fixed font.

For more recent versions, this coordinates are showed outside, located at
the right of the command line.
The available options (Utilities-Preferences) are: to show or hide this
coordinates frame (Display coordinates), the font name and size (Normal font
settings), and the string output format (generic real format)

Note: The last GiD beta version is the 7.4.3b for Windows

[GiDlist] coordinate triad display

Post by Steven Xu »

Enrique and Miguel,

Thanks a lot for your help. The information you provided is very helpful, as
always.

I am terribly sorry, as I did not make myself understood when saying
"coordinate triad". By saying "coordinate triad", I mean the small
tetrahedron with label "x", "y" and "z" at its corner, showing the viewing
direction for the current plot shown. By default, this small tetrahedron is
shown at the left bottom of the central GiD screen. When I go to Utilities -
Graphical - Move Screen Objects, I can move around this small tetrahedron.
But I have not found a way to change its display model such as size and
transparency.

Thanks, Steven
