Hi Enrique
I know that GiD can generate beam and shell element
but these should be seperated. In my case can GiD
generate the beam and shell? Please look at the
attached file. The model in the attached file is
generated by hand(xxx.msh) and import by GiD mesh
command.
Any technic to have GiD generate it automatically?
I can’t see GiD7.1.7b-win.exe on the CIMNE/GiD
webpage yet. Still only GiD7.1.3b.

By default, if GiD generate the surface “shell” mesh elements, then not
generate
the line “beam” elements for the contour lines of this surfaces.
To force to generate also this line elements, use the menu:
Meshing-Mesh Criteria-Mesh-Lines
and select the desired lines.
GiD 7.1.7b-win.exe is in the same directory as GiD7.1.3b-win.exe!!

Hi Enrique and all GiD team
I would like my fields appear on the windows box
from the LEFT JUSTIFY,original GiD start from Right.
Can we modify those such things in tcl files of GiD?
LEFT JUSTIFY:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXX
RIGHT JUSTIFY:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXX

Dear VSayako, there is no way (except dealing with tcl code) to force
GiD to make a left justify in the data windows. But there is way you can
solve it. Using the field TKWIDGET (now an internal feature)
you can draw the contents of the data windows as you wish. Here is
attached a document on this feature and a sample doing a right justify
of the labels in the problem data window. Hope it helps.
best regards,
Jorge Suit
