[ GiDlist ] a sphere deformation

After running Tochnog, these files are created:
sphere.flavia.msh
sphere.flavia.res
for GiD postprocess.

Start GiD, change to postprocess (Files-Postprocess) and then Open
(sphere.flavia.msh or sphere.flavia.res) and then GiD load the results.
Note that the sphere appears black, because the set number is ‘0’ and this
is its
default color. To change it, you can use Windows-Display Style.

To see a deformation animation.
in the window “Mesh Deformation” select Main Geometry Deformed
in the window “Animate”, check Deformation and play.

Note: if your GiD project is named sphere, and copy sphere.flavia.res and
sphere.flavia.msh to the directory \sphere.gid, then when you change to
postprocess, the results are automatically loaded.
If the file sphere.flavia.msh exist in the project sphere.gid, then it is
used instead of the preprocess mesh. (if have this preprocess mesh,
sphere.flavia.msh is unnecessary).

Subject: [ GiDlist ] a sphere deformation

Hi,
I am new to using tochnog. I want to create a sphere and give a
quadrilateral contact surface, and apply force from top…so that I can
see
the sphere getting compressed.
I created the sphere using GID and followed an example (Pressed rubber
cylinder) to add force and geometry definitions. Tochnog gives no error
but
postprocess using GID does not deform the sphere..the sphere moves from
its
original location.
sphere.dat is attached.
Any help will be appreciated.
thanks,
Ravi
