Help Required

Post by mikegold »

Dear GiD-team,

I want to hollow out the T-shaped bar shape from the block by using GiD.
Then, I tried to hollow out by using [Geometry]-[Edit]-[Volume Boolean op.]-[Substraction].
However, I can not hollow out it.

If possible, would you give me some advice?
Thank you.

If do you have a volume, and one or more volumes completely inside (without require calculate intersections), then you must use
Geometry->Edit->Hole volume
select first the outer volume, and then the inner volumes (the inner volumes will be deleted and become holes of the outer volume)
Note: in this case the shape of the volumes doesn't matter

I cannot guess how is exactly you model, if your question is not solve attach a zip with the .gid folder of your case
