Cannot connect to server

Hi,
I have a 2 user GiD floating licence installed on my university workstation (running on Windows).

Till today, my client and server computer are the same.

Recently I have tried to connect to server using my personal Windows laptop connect to University Wi-Fi but couldn't connect.

Is it possible to connect this way ? or both computers must exist on a same network ?

The client could be on other network, but must have Internet connection with the server
and the server firewall, if any, must allow the TCP/IP incoming connections with passerverd at port 7073.

(It is like a normal http web server that mus have an IP visible from the client and allow the incoming connections at port 80)
