Dear Sir/ Madam,
I have a 3D drawing of an arch dam in autocad which I save it in the .dxf format to import it to GID. However, something seems to be wrong since I've
waited a whole day for the import to be complete and GID still shows a box indicating the number of lines being read from the .dxf file (the number of lines keeps increasing before reducing and this cycle happens again and again). I have attached the autocad file and what the GID shows for your kind consideration. I'm using GID version 11.0.8 (evaluation version) and have saved the .dwg in the .dxf format (autocad 2013 DXF (*.dxf)).
Is there a limit to the number of lines, points, etc. that can be imported to GID when using the evaluation version?
Best Regards,
Hamed

Re: Problem with .DXf file import from Autocad to GID
It seems that the problem is that the DXF has a keyword BLOCKS inside the TABLES section
and then GiD is not finding properly the BLOCKS section and is entering in an infinite loop.
This bug has been fixed for next 14 official and developer versions
I attach the GiD model (zip compressed) obtained with the fixed GiD version, available soon.
