Hello,

The DXF format only supports simple entities from AutoCAD. Especially,
it does not support at all all the ACIS solids that can be created with
this program. To transfer 3D surfaces and solids to GiD, use IGES,
PARASOLID,
or ACIS.

Regards,

Hi, I'm having a importing problem here:

I have a .dxf file and I go Files Import/Export DXF Read. A small
"Reading DXF" dialog pops up and there is an "Entities Read" bar
indicator quickly counts to the max and the dialog disappears. The
status bar below says "Wait, please... Geometry read." But there is no
gemetry on the screen!

I try Utilities Status. The number of points and lines are zero. I
try Geomtry Delete All types and I window the whole screen and hit
Esc. Nothing gets deleted according to the message in the status bar.

Could it be a displaying problem in GiD? Or could it be a bad .dxf file?
Pls advice.

Thanks,
