[ GiDlist ] elements

Hello,

GiD buit in contacts are defined for a couple of situations:

- Normal contacts: Two boudaries (2D or 3D) that share the same
geometric
position but the geometrical entities are doubled.
- Separate volume: Two boundaries (in 3D) that are geometrically
separated
but you can go from one to another with a solid rigid movement.

Other types of contacts are typically defined using two conditions, one
for the master and the other one for the slave. Both conditions must have a
field that acts as an identifier, and the the user will assign the same
identifier
for every pair of master slaves. Later, in the .bas file it is possible to
list both groups of contact elements.

One more question.Is there any comprehensive tutorial
available on creating contacts.
I am trying to do a soil pile analysis.I represent the
pile with a linear element in a 3D soil mass.ie: a
line element within a cylindrical hole of the same
diameter as the actual pile in the soil mass.I couple
the displacements of pile nodes and soil nodes at the
same level.I attach a view of the model.Can I use
'contact' to couple pile node and the sorrounding soil
nodes.

So, you can create a mesh, save it and start a new

Hi All
I wonder if it is possible to generate two type of
elements in the same model using GID.
ie: For example a quadratic brick element and a
linear
line element.
I know we can generate different elements of the
same
order(say only linear or only quadratic).Is it
possible to have both types together.Just curious to
know this.
