Hi Gid team,

The problems that I'm dealing with, have different values of
tractions in one node, according to the element which share this
node, i.e., to each element (shell or boundary element) I have a
different value of traction. How can I represent it in the post
processor? Is it possible?

Hello,

GiD has no direct support for this. The normal way to proceed in
these cases is either:

1- Duplicate the nodes in the special boundaries inside the analysis
code and change the elements connectivities, then output to GiD
the new mesh file.
2- Transfer the results to Gauss Points. Then, the results can be
discontinuous from element to element.

My personal advice is to choose possibility one. It needs a little of
additional programming code but works very well.

Sometime ago there was a discussion thread about Geometry-Edit- Move
Point.

The problem with this option was that resulting surfaces was distorted, so
that when you generated the mesh, even on structured ones, the aspect of the
elements were not good. I think that it was Enrique (?) who told us that the
algorithm for moving the points was not so robust as to keep surfaces with
the original aspect.

Well, I have tried to .. Move point --- Utilities - Repair -- Utilities -
Collapse - Model, and it rules.

Is this a good way to edit the model without having to create surfaces again
or is just that my models are good willing ones?
