tohil and Python in futuer

Post by Hemmi »

I compared GiD16.0.2 distribution and GiD16.1.3d distribution.
To my surprise, GiD16.1.3d includes Python with tohil, while GiD16.0.2 has no Python.
Will it be standard for future GiDs to include Python and tohil as well?

You must not be surprised by this fact, it follow our general policy rules:
We increase a main version each two two years. Current main version is 16

The official versions (16.0.x) won't never have new features (compared with first 16.0), like implement Python. Will only have fixed bugs, and its manual is constant.

The developer versions (16.1.xd) will have the new features and fixed bugs, and its manual will be changed according to the new features.

The idea is that an official version is more stable, just because is not including the news that will provide new bugs and secondary effects. To have the new experimental features the developer version must be used.

Concluding: the news of allow Python and others will become official in the future GiD 17.0 (on May 2024)
