Dear GiD deveoper,
In the attachment of this post, one project (ConeAndMirroredCone_ASCII.gid) is included.
In this project two geometric cones are involved.
One cone is generated via [Geometry]>[Create]>[Object]>[Cone].
The other is generated via [Utilities]>[Copy]>[Mirror].
For the model, mesh generation fails.
For GiD 11 of Windows PC (I have the license for this type), GiD crashes.
For GiD 14 of OpenSUSE (I have no license; using limited function),
Gid complains : "1 wrong Volumes\n 4 dir == COLLSIONFACE" and mesh generation fails.
Let me know how to repair this 2-cones model.
Regards,
Mesh generation fails for cone and mirrored cone volumes

Re: Mesh generation fails for cone and mirrored cone volumes
Your model has 3 volumes, not 2 as you expected.
there are the 2 cones (volumes id=2 and 3), that could be meshed,
and also a wrong volume id=4. This volume has zero size, it is defined by the surface 1 with orientation positive and another time the surface 1 with orientation negative.
You must simply delete this volume id=4
