Hi
Many thanks for all your reply. It really helped me
alot.

The GiD numeration for the 20 nodes hexaedral is:
if the first face is the : 1-2-3-4, your normal
vector is (1-2)X(2-3) (point
to interior)
then the opposite face 5-6-7-8 is located following
this normal direction.
the 9 to 20 nodes are located in the middle of
edges.
Note:
Comand *GlobalNodes can have as arguments: invert,
swap and swapinvert
you can play with them.
If the default order of GiD does not fit your needs,
also, it is possible to
use the command in this way:
*GlobalNodes(2)
And it will return the second node of the element.

Subject: [ GiDlist ] Urgent: Connectivity for 20
noded brick element

Hi All
I need some clarification about the local node
numbering for 20 noded brick element connectivity.
As I see, the gid first list the conner nodes
and
then the intermediate nodes of each side.Thats
fine.
But the problem is it lists the nodes in the
clockwise
sense whereas I want it in the anti clockwise
sense.
(This change in direction of connectivity gives me
large errors)Is there any way I can ask the GID to
list the connectivity in anti clock wise sense.
(ie:starting from a node and proceding in the
anticlockwise direction
Iwould appreciate if some one can give me some
insight
in to this problem.
