I’ve changed from GiD 7.5.3b to GiD 7.5.5 and the symbols
seem not to work. Has anything changed in the specification
of the .sim file?

Sorry this is a bug on this beta version (specification was not changed).
Will be corrected as soon as possible for the next beta.
