among other things this new version has:
· materials can be unassigned individually or by books
· quadratic elements are drawn in pre- and in post- (cuts are stil done
as if these elements where linear . . .).
in the preferences window, folder ‘graphic’ there is a option menu
with the label ‘draw quadratic element’ with the options:
No: the quadratic elements are drawn as linear ones.
AsLine: the quadratic elements are drawn using lines between then nodes,
filled triangles/cuadrilaterals are subdivided in triangles.
AsCurve: the quadratic lines/edges are drawn as parabolas.
filled triangles/cuadrilaterals are still subdivided in triangles.
· some bugs corrections:
errors while reading some gausspoints and drawing tetras&hexas
enchancements while reading Femap ascii neutral format
interpolation errors of results over cuts when some results are not
defined on some nodes ( the legend showed 1..e+38/-1..e+38)
enchancements in SurfMesh
· new ‘ResultGroup’ block in ASCII postprocess data files to write results

with its nodal results.

You can intersect surface-surface, or multiple surfaces. Also you can create the auxiliary volumes, use some boolean operation, and after delete the volumes.
Please, if your intersection surface-surface fails, send us you GiD geometric model (.geo file).

I have no problems making the actual intersection. The problems come when I
try to create the nurb with a hole on the side of the cylinder. I send you
the file. Hopefully you can see what I’m trying to do.

You need to create a hole in a Surface:
First create the missing cylinder surface (for example, use a copy of the opposite surface, with a mirror)
To add the hole to this surface pick the menu:Geometry-Edit-Hole NURBS Surface, then select the surface, and the lines over this surface to define the hole loop.
I’ attach your file with this modifications.
