Has anyone interfaced GiD postprocessing with NetCDF files?
I am interested in maintaining our solver solutions written in NetCDF, but minimizing the intermediate steps of converting back to *.flavia.res for GiD to accept for postprocessing.
Thanks,
John

GiD does not read NetCDF files directly. It’s in our agenda, but until now
nobody asked for it. It’s good to see that there is interest in this
feature.
We’ll try to implement it for one of the beta versions.
Thanks,
Miguel Pasenau

We are able to read in preprocess NetCDF files as a grid mesh, assuming that
the file contain the variables “lon”, “lat” for longitude, latitude and
“topo” as the height. This case was used to import batimetric earth data.
We have also compiled a tcl-netcdf library, to enable the use of NetCDF
files from Tcl scripting.
We are currently not reading NetCDF array data for postprocess, but we can
do it for next versions if there are people interested in this feature.

can I determine the parametric t value or the u,v values for mesh nodes
lying on NURBS lines / surfaces via the TCL interface?
My goal is to describe the curvature of element edges, which are lying
on a NURBS line, for the p-FEM method using the blending function
method, where I need a parametric representation of the element edge.
I also do not understand, for which geometric entities GiD uses NURBS
lines and for which it uses Arclines?
Thanks for the help.
Best regards,
Andreas

This is a minor bug I found on post-processing vector data. When you try to draw any vector data (using contour fill, iso-lines, etc) the menu does not refresh it contents unless you click an area outside GID (i.e., desktop). But after the first attempt the menu does not refresh at all, so you need to exit post-process and reenter again.
Included: Gid Problem Type (2d_Potential_Flow.gid.zip), Example with results (2dvalvle_2gid.zip) and a video showing this problem (GidBug01.m4v).
Please also let me know if I can send large file to this email address for future bug report, or If you have a special repository.
thank you
