Here is a way of meshing a sphere with quadrilateral elements. It uses a
partition of the sphere in six identical surfaces homeomorphous with a square.
Each surface is meshed with a structured mesh.
I join a postscript image of the mesh and an ascii format of the GiD files
(just put sphere.* in a sphere.gid directory).
