Today, 27 januari 2021, i installed the latest linux on my chromebook. And gid runs again on that.

At this moment (october 9 202) gid doesn't run anymore on linux in a chromebook. No idea why. Looks like google changed something in chromeos.

as extra info for those interested in gid on chromebooks: licenses with usb dongles will not work at the moment (google did not implement usb support on linux on chromebooks yet). To answer myself a bit, for those who need it, I found that if you only want to generate pictures in batch mode do something like: gid_offscreen -offscreen 1000x1000 -b tmp.bch Why gid does something different (when doing 'gid -b tmp.bch' or else 'gid' and load the batch from inside gid) I don't kno...
